Love Moscow Mules? May I suggest a Blueberry Moscow Mule or a Spiced Pear Moscow Mule?
It’s Thirsty Thursday and I’m back with another cocktail featuring Smirnoff Sourced Cranberry Apple. It seems only appropriate to turn it into a Moscow Mule. After all, its one of my favorite drinks and the Spiced Pear Moscow Mule I crafted last fall is still one of the most popular recipes on the blog. And for good reason, it’s delicious.
So we’re back from our vacation, the sun and all day beach going, bummer. We returned to work, carpooling and daily adult life. I miss the beach. I spent my days laying out in the sun, drinking by the pool (and playing B-I-N-G-O!) and cruising around with alligators (twice). For a temporary moment, I am going to sip on my Cranberry Apple Moscow Mule, pretend the leaves aren’t falling off the trees (the palm trees were beautiful by the way) and sit back and enjoy all Fall has to offer here in Central IL. Still wishing I was in South Florida though.
To further chat our beach vacation and make you all jealous, I ate a lobster. I’m not talking a lobster tail like I thought I was getting, oh no, they brought out the whole lobster. I thought it was a little strange when they strapped a bib on me and handed me a cracker. I looked at my BIL and said, “why do I need this for a lobster tail?” Upon further examination, I reread what I had ordered and it was in fact the WHOLE lobster. Whoops. And I’m not gonna lie folks, I wasn’t blown away. It was way more work than enjoyment.
However, I did enjoy one of the BEST cubano sandwiches of my life at a little joint called, Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine. If you ever find yourself in Ft. Lauderdale, check them out. From the bread basket to the Tres Leches cake, delish! We also took an air boat ride, so I can check that off my bucket list, I had a parrot perched on my arm and I saw a new yachts that cost more than my life, 30 million to be exact. Now where do you get that kind of cash and what job should I be doing. On the tour we were on, they said it cost $30K a month just to dock those yachts for maintenance. That’s more than I pay for my mortgage in one year, let alone one month. Oh well folks, lucky for you, I’m a food blogger just sharing a recipe for a Cranberry Apple Moscow Mule for you. Maybe I’ll recreate that cubano and tres leches cake I had. #foodbloggergoals #notbuyingayacht
Ok, I’ll get my head out of the sand and back to these Cranberry Apple Moscow Mule. There is a lot to celebrate this October! Did you know it’s National Apple Month, National Cranberry Month AND National Vodka Month? Let’s celebrate by mixing up a cocktail with all 3. I really fell in love with Smirnoff Sourced Cranberry Apple when I was making Cranberry Apple Rosemary Sangria. The sangria is delicious and screams fall. Whenever I see apples, cranberries and rosemary, I instantly think of Fall. Are there things that just instantly remind you of a season or time in your life?
Walnuts also remind me of Fall. I love walnuts anyways, but especially around Fall is when I use them the most. My mother use to place a bowl of whole nuts on the dining room table with a cracker. It was always my favorite to crack open the walnuts. Now I’m just lazy and buy mine in the package. So thinking of all things Fall, I decided to add a little bit of Black Walnut bitters to this Cranberry Apple Moscow Mule to give it a little flare, if you will. Perfection.
The black walnut bitters added a whole new depth of flavor that’s unexpected but delightful. The Cranberry Apple vodka, mixed with ginger beer, lime and black walnut bitters is a delicious combo and worthy of your new favorite Fall sipper.

A 30 million dollar yacht?!? I don’t get it!!! Lobsters are A LOT of work – I think they are not restaurant friendly. You need a friend who wants to cook you a lobster to enjoy on her back porch! Next trip to FL?? 😉 This cranberry moscow mule sounds amazing and I cannot wait to make it!
Megan Marlowe says
Yes, a yacht! It was crazy! I agree! I need friends in Florida so I can escape the cold AND cook me lobster! ?
