Layers of Pillsbury™Funfetti® Cake, Frosting, Snickers and M&M’s make these Patriotic Mini Trifles the best way to spread your love of Red, White and Blue!
Spread more Patriotic love with these delicious Lemon Berry Trifles.
Memorial day has come and gone, thank you to all those men and women who serve our country! Flag day is right around the corner and before we know it, it’ll be Independence day! Let the Red, White and Blue fly!
We look forward to the Fourth of July starting on July 5th. I love dreaming up the next dessert I’m going to make. A few years ago I made this Patriotic Layer Cake and for the kids I made Patriotic Crispy Treats.
This year I am opting for something a little less involved but with a lot more “WOW!” Meet Patriotic Mini Trifles. Fun for parents, kids and chocolate lovers alike. This will be the show stopper of the day, next to the fireworks of course!
I seem to always be in charge of the desserts when it comes to parties and I’m the first person people call when they’re having a bake sale. And I’m totally ok with that. The more I bake for other people, the less I have to eat of it, LOL!
Our family has a HUGE sweet tooth. We’ve all got our own vices but mine is SNICKERS® and the hubs’ happens to be Peanut M&M’s®. As for cake, we always have a box of Pillsbury™Funfetti® in the pantry.
This year, while shopping at Meijer, I grabbed a box of Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Stars & Stripes®, Frosting, as well as Red, White & Blue Peanut M&M’s®. I got to thinking while perusing around the store, “what can I make for this year’s festivities?” As I walked the store I also spotted SNICKERS® Brand Red, White & Blue Minis and threw those in the cart too.
I started to think back to the Red, White and Blue desserts of my past and none of them included a trifle but how could I make them more fun? Mini trifles. Everything is more fun when in mini size!
My daughter loves to help me bake, so we got into the kitchen together to whip up these Patriotic Mini Trifles. She loves to pour in the ingredients, crack the eggs and stir. It’s probably because she knows I will let her lick the bowl scraper when we’re done. ?
We waited until the Pillbury™Funfetti® Stars & Stripes® Cake came out of the oven and cooled. Then I cut the cake and Snickers into little bite size pieces and placed a few of them into the bottom of mini trifle bowls. I layered on a top of Funfetti® Stars & Stripes® frosting combined with whipped cream and then placed the Red, White & Blue Peanut M&M’s on top. I did one more layer and then finally on the top, I placed a few Snickers and M&M’s and decorated it with a sparkler. (I’ve always wanted to capture a shot like this)
