Is there anything better than relaxing on the porch with a nice, tall glass of lemonade? It’s so refreshing sweet and perfect to quench your thirst. This was my thinking when crafting up this Spiked Triple Berry Basil Lemonade.
Now if you’ve been a reader for any time at all, you might recall I did a similar post back in the day. It’s weird to say that but I’m coming up on my 2nd blogging anniversary. The pictures are atrocious and instead of simply just redoing them, I revamped the whole thing. And guys, its better!
I made this delicious Triple Berry Mojitini last summer with SMIRNOFF Red, White and Berry and absolutely fell in love. The combination of cherry, citrus and blue raspberry in their vodka is a summertime delight! Nothing screams summer more than berries and citrus.
Berries are popping up all over the store right now and I’m on cloud 9. Soon we’ll be strawberry picking and everything will be coming up berries on the blog. I’ll be making trifles, cream puffs and Moscow Mules and all summer long. Can’t wait.
So for this Spiked Triple Berry Basil Lemonade I started with SMIRNOFF Red, White and Berry since it’s almost Memorial Day and all. It’s very festive.
This is the perfect drink for entertaining because it’s made pitcher style so it can serve up to 8. My advice to you, double the recipe. It’s so refreshing and delicious everyone will probably have a second glass. And because I know you are so busy party prepping to host for the holiday, I made it super simple too. Win-win!
Start by berry basil ice cubes. Take an ice-cube tray, fill it with berries and snipped basil and freeze until solid. I absolutely love to do this for everything. If you take the liquid in your beverages and make them into ice cubes, it won’t dilute what you are drinking. I especially love to do this with homemade cold brew coffee.
After you’ve made the ice cubes, now you’re going to make a basil lemon syrup. I was going to make a basil lemonade and just boil the leaves with the lemonade, but I wanted you to be able to control the amount of sweetness and basil that was going into your Spiked Triple Berry Basil Lemonade.
Next, make your basil lemon syrup and cool to room temperature. When it’s cool to the touch, grab a pitcher and add your lemonade, basil simple syrup and Red, White and Berry vodka. Stir to combine and you’re ready to serve.
As I mentioned earlier, because it’s almost Memorial day and the Fourth of July soon follows, I placed festive straws into the glasses which I found at Target in the dollar spot. I also added a few extra berries as the berry ice cubes had melted yet and I wanted a pretty presentation.
These were such a HUGE hit when I served them last week for a trial run before our Memorial Day party. I know what we’ll be sipping on all summer long; Spiked Triple Berry Basil Lemonade and I hope you will be too!
