It’s going to be a seriously delicious week!
First up are these delicious Cherry Mash Truffles.
Cherry Lovers Rejoice!
I happen to LOVE the flavor of cherry. When I was a little girl, my dad would gift me a box of chocolate covered cherries every year for Christmas. It’s one of my fondest memories and I can’t look at a box of those chocolates without smiling.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever had a Cherry Mash, but if you love cherry flavor, you’re missing out. But not any more because you can make them at home.
From the taste to the he exact electric pink color that is the center of these amazing candies, I’d like to say I nailed it 100%
When I was younger, I use to babysit the kids across the street. When it was Christmas time their mother would bring over cherry bing bars and they were my favorite thing in the World!
I’ve seen them called Cherry Bing Bars, Bing Candy, Twin Bing and Cherry Mash. I was a little at lost as to what to call these but I landed on Cherry Mash Truffles.
Fast forward to a few years ago and I messaged one of the kids I use to babysit for and she sent me the recipe her mother always use to make.
A quick Google search and an entire case of cherry chips later, I was in the kitchen making those delicious cherry bing bars.
Recently, while traveling back from South Dakota, I had a Cherry Mash (old fashioned candy bar) from a gas station and it reminded me of the cherry bing bars I had when I was younger.
Instantly I knew what I was going to do with the bottle of Cherry Bakery Emulsion, from LorAnn Oils and Flavors, I had recently received.
I made the candy inside with the cherry flavoring, some powdered sugar and milk.
Then melted chocolate, added chopped peanuts and dipped the cherry centers in. Homemade cherry chocolate candies in no time.

A few years ago I tried a new cookie recipe for the holidays. I’m not much of a baker, however, they were amazing and worth the time, plus everyone loves them. I baked the Cherry Chocolate Kiss Cookies every year.

Can I substitute the emulsion with plain old cherry extract?
Megan | Strawberry Blondie Kitchen says
Absolutely! Just use the same amount as the emulsion, as it’ll work 1:1. 🙂

Can regular chocolate chips be used for this or does it have to be the semi sweet?
Megan | Strawberry Blondie Kitchen says
I apologize for the delay! You can use whatever chocolate chips you have on hand!
Carolyn says

Yes, you can use strawberry extract and make strawberry chocolate truffles. You can purchase the cherry I used on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/3ex75UE

Can these be made in a pan and cut into squares?
Megan | Strawberry Blondie Kitchen says
Hi Connie! I have not tested the recipe that way so I cannot be certain it would work.
