I’m jumping in right away today, guys! This Asian Sesame Noodle Slaw, I am so excited. For many reasons.
Number 1, it’s absolutely delicious.
2. I’st SUPER simple. I’m talking 5 minutes.
3. It gets me SUPER excited for BBQ, potluck, summer grillin’ season. Bring it on!
I’ve mentioned like 1 billion times how much we love our neighbors, I mean do you want to live by me already or what!? Most of the time when we are hanging out, catching some rays, we completely forget what time it is. Isn’t summertime wonderful like that?
So then it’s 6 o’clock and we’re like crap, who’s got what for dinner? “I’ve got meat” “I’ve got buns” “I’ve got chips.” And now I can say, “I’ve got Asian Sesame Noodle Slaw.” Yeah this stuff is what BBQ’s are made of.
I recently made some BBQ pulled pork and I’m the gal who puts coleslaw on top of pulled pork, ya feel me? Oh its so good with all it’s creaminess on top of sweet, smoky BBQ. If you haven’t had it some time, try it. I promise, you’ll be hooked.
Well for this recent BBQ pulled pork I made, I made it Asian style with a little soy sauce, vinegar and sesame oil. Boy is it good.
Anyways, so I’m in the International aisle at Walmart picking up some ingredients and my eyes happened upon these NEW P.F. Chang’s® Home Menu sauces.
They come in 3 varieties; Teriyaki, Sesame and Kung Pao. I quickly threw the sesame variety in my cart knowing darn well what I was doing with it, making some sort of Asian coleslaw to throw up on top of my BBQ sandwich.
I grabbed a few more ingredients and headed on my merry way so I could get this Asian inspired dinner under way.
When I got home, I set out all of my ingredients to get this Asian Sesame Noodle Slaw underway. You need 10 super simple ingredients that I know you already have in your pantry/fridge.
You start by placing some P.F. Chang’s® Sesame sauce into a bowl with some peanut butter and rice wine vinegar. Whisk that together. Then add in a packet of broken up ramen noodles, no spice packet, green onion, thinly sliced red pepper, cilantro, sunflower seeds, a bag of cabbage mix, extra shredded carrots (I never think the coleslaw bag has enough) and chopped peanuts. Mix all of that together and either refrigerate or if you’re like me, serve yourself a bowl right away.
Yum. Now this Asian Sesame Noodle Slaw is everything and more when it comes to a slaw. It could even be a salad.
The P.F. Chang’s® Sesame sauce is absolutely delicious. It’s a simple secret to extraordinary flavor in here. This sauce makes creating recipes much more simpler.
The sesame sauce is absolutely delicious on it’s own and I can think of at least 5 more ways I will use this in my every day cooking. Not to mention the Teriyaki and Kung Pao varieties as well.
What I loved about this slaw is all the dimensions it had. It was crunchy, sweet and tangy from the sauce and the perfect accompaniment to our BBQ. I envision a lot of this slaw at out get togethers this summer!
