Coffee, need it, gotta have it.  I start each morning with a hot cup of coffee and by mid morning, in the warm months, I’m switching to cold brew. Every weekend I make a batch of cold brew coffee to last us through the week.  I also make cold brew ice cubes because ain’t no body got time for watered down coffee when the temperatures are on the rise.

Cold brew is so simple to make and I’ve been keeping the hubs and I caffeinated for years on it.  It’s our summer drink of choice until one day I decided to make this Coffee Cooler Float.

Our household staples are milk, coffee, creamer and ice cream.  I’m also pretty confident we could live on these items if need be.  We always have 2 types of creamers on hand and a variety of ice cream at the ready, especially in the summertime.

Now let’s get straight to the creamers because to me, this is a VERY important component to the perfect cup o’ Joe.  I’m always on the lookout for the creamiest, most delicious flavor I can find.  My husband loves vanilla so for years we’ve been on the lookout for the perfect vanilla.  I’m happy to report, we’ve found “the one.”

While shopping at Wal-Mart and standing at the dairy cooler for a good 5 minutes deciding on which creamer I would purchase, the orange packaging caught my eye an into the cart went the Dunkin’ Donuts® creamer, in vanilla for the hubs and extra extra for me.

I couldn’t wait for the next morning to try out these new creamers in my hot coffee.  See, I go to bed dreaming of my cup of coffee first thing.  Caffeine runs through my veins and I’m not ashamed one bit.

Man, was the Dunkin’ Donuts® Vanilla Creamer ever delicious!  My husband LOVED it too!  Three cheers for the perfect vanilla.

Later that morning, it was particularly hot and as I was pouring my late morning cold brew, my son asked for ice cream, which isn’t out of the ordinary as he starts to ask me around the time he wakes up.  As I’m pouring my coffee, he asked if instead he could have a root beer float.  Sure!  It’s almost summer vacation.  So I made him a root beer float and then had a GENIUS idea!  I’m totally putting ice cream and root beer into my cold brew.  Voila, the Coffee Cooler Float was born.

I just happened to purchase the Dunkin’ Donuts® vanilla creamer which is the perfect addition to this coffee cooler float.  The Dunkin’ Donuts® Creamer has rich vanilla flavor and extra smooth.  It’s a delightful balance with the sweet root beer and coffee.  The effervescence from the root beer is a delicious and fun!  I have found my new summer drink and I couldn’t be more elated!

Have your coffee and your dessert too with this Coffee Cooler Float.  Cold brew is combined with root beer, cream and vanilla ice cream to give you the ultimate in coffee indulgence! 

Ingredients

• Cold brew ice cubes*
• 1/2 cup cold brew (homemade or store bought)
• 1/2 cup root beer
• 2 tablespoons Dunkin’ Donuts® Vanilla Creamer
• 2 scoops vanilla ice cream (about 1/2 cup)

Instructions

*To make cold brew ice cubes, freeze cold brew coffee into ice cube trays until solid

1. Place 4-5 cold brew ice cubes into glass.  
2. Pour in remaining liquids and top with vanilla ice cream.

Sip, slurp, chug, gone.  Ahhh, delicious and refreshing too!  And because of the cold brew ice cubes, your coffee won’t be watered down and the cubes will slowly melt into your float.  Yummy!

Why not have your coffee and your dessert too?!  Imagine all the possibilities with this coffee cooler float!  You’ll never have to have the same type of float twice.  Switch it up with caramel ice cream and Dunkin’ Donuts® Caramel Creamer.  Now that would be a delicious twist.  I also happen to love mint in my coffee so mint chocolate ice cream and Dunkin’ Donuts® Extra Extra Creamer would really amp up the creaminess in that coffee cooler float.  I could go on and on….
