Tis the season to be stressed out.  I feel like my to do list is a mile long and it’s not getting any shorter.

Between shopping for presents, cleaning the house and prepping for Christmas dinner, I feel like my head could explode!

But I am here to help with a delicious appetizer, Crab and Everything Bagel Cheese Ball.  It’s packed with delicious crab, fresh herbs and everyone’s favorite, Everything bagel seasoning.  Now doesn’t that just look splendid!  It’s a must make for your next party!

As soon as Thanksgiving is over, I start to plan Christmas dinner.  My mom always served ham, which was delicious, but I like to switch it up and serve beef.  This year I’m making beef wellington and everyone can’t wait to sit down.

I start the planning with the appetizer, which honestly to me, is the best part.

Everyone can gather around in the kitchen, noshing on food, merrily drinking and reading their manuals for their newest “toys.”

This year, while perusing through Meijer, in the refrigerated seafood section, I found Louis Kemp® Crab Delights® Flake Style.  I had recently seen in a magazine where they took seafood, made it into a cheese ball and then rolled it in everything bagel seasoning.  So that is where I got my inspiration from.

So I was super excited to go home and try out this Crab and Everything Bagel Cheese Ball before I made it for Christmas dinner.

Louis Kemp Crab Delights are made with premium Wild Alaskan Pollock fillets, gluten-free and a great source of protein.  They’re also low in calories and cholesterol which is great since we’re all trying to watch our waistlines behavior around this time of year.

Did I mention it’s super easy?  It’s a matter of throwing everything into your stand mixer and mixing, rolling to a ball, chilling and then rolling into everything bagel seasoning.  Yes, that’s it.  Super delicious appetizer and amazingly easy?  YES PLEASE!

I plan on serving this Crab and Everything Bagel Cheese Ball with crackers toasts in garlic flavor but it would also be great with bagel chips.  Get what I did there.

Crab and Everything Bagel Cheese Ball

This Crab and Everything Bagel Cheese Ball is packed with crab, fresh herbs and rolled in everything bagel seasoning.  An appetizer worthy of your next get together!

Ingredients

• 8 ounces Louis Kemp® Crab Delights® Flake Style, chopped
• 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature, I used fat free
• 1 shallot, finely minced
• 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
• 1 tablespoon fresh flat leaf parsley, chopped
• 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon lemon zest
• 2 tablespoons Everything but the Bagel Seasoning
• Bagel chips, melba toast, crackers, pita chips for serving

Instructions

1. In the bowl of your stand mixer, crab place cream cheese, shallot, dill, parsley, cream, garlic powder, lemon juice and zest and mix until combined.
2. Lay out a piece of saran wrap and place mixture into the middle.  Form into a ball and wrap into saran wrap.  Place into the freezer for 30 minutes.
3. Sprinkle Everything but the Bagel Seasoning onto a place and roll ball into mixture, thoroughly coating.
4. Place ball into new piece of saran wrap and place into refrigerator until ready to serve.

Crab and Everything Bagel Cheese Ball is absolutely delicious!  The flavor from the crab is wonderful paired with the tangy cream cheese and flavors from everything but the bagel seasoning.  The combination is fresh, and who doesn’t’ love a cheese ball around the holidays?!
