Love cranberry cocktails? Try this Cranberry Apple Moscow Mule
We made it, or should I say I made it? It’s OFFICIALLY Fall, as in today, Thursday, September 22. Not September 1st when the PSL craze started, Fall officially made its debut with this Cranberry Apple Rosemary Sangria and ain’t she purdy?!
I love fall, I really do. What isn’t there to love? It’s the return of my leggings, my comfortable and adorable boots and cooler temperatures. Therefore, I can hide that “Pumpkin pastry belly” I’ve got going on under my hoodies. It’s an all around win, folks.
It’s also the return of lazy football Sunday, which I LOVE. you’ll find me in the kitchen all morning long cooking up snacks and then sitting on my couch for at least 3 hours to watch my team, most likely lose, followed by a nap while Sunday ticket still blares in the background. The hubs follow EVERY team for his 1.2 million fantasy teams he has. Ok, only 4 bit still.
Although I’m a summer girl, I really do enjoy the fall. I think I just get anxious about its return because of the season that follows. The only good thing about winter is my birthday. Ok and Christmas because there is no better joy than waking up with your kids on Christmas morning. It’s literally the best but other than that, the Angels can keep their snow, frigid temps and winter coats.
Every weekend you’ll usually find us at the neighbor’s house just hanging in the driveway, having some cocktails and catching up on life. And that’s what I love so much about sangrias, specifically this Cranberry Apple Rosemary Sangria for Fall. It’s the perfect quick and easy cocktail to serve a crowd. I make mine up the night before, so the flavors have time to meld and the fruit soaks up all the booze. Then by morning or afternoon, however you roll, it’s ready to go.
For this Cranberry Apple Rosemary Sangria I used Smirnoff Sourced Cranberry Apple Vodka. It’s delicious, made with fresh fruit flavors, gluten-free, and contains no high fructose corn syrup. It’s the perfect balance of not too sweet and not too sour. In addition to the Cranberry Apple variety, they also have Pineapple and Ruby Red Grapefruit. I’m a huge grapefruit fan so that’s my next purchase.
To balance out the flavors in the Cranberry Apple Rosemary Sangria, I used a combined of fresh fruits; Apples, pears, oranges and lemons. I also froze pomegranate arils to use as ice cubes. I would have used cranberries but someone advised me in the produce department that they do not come out until November… can anyone verify this? I figured those people at Ocean Spray would be flooding those bogs by now. Anyways, this Cranberry Apple Rosemary Sangria will be making an appearance on my Thanksgiving table with cranberries.
I’m a HUGE fan of rosemary. It’s currently doing very well in my garden. It’s such a great herb to use in the fall and knew it would go great with the flavors in this sangria so I made a cinnamon rosemary simple syrup. And the name says it all, simple syrup. You just boil 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar, throw in a few sprigs of rosemary and a few cinnamon sticks. Boil until the sugar is dissolved and allow to cool completely. I like to store mine in cork glass bottles so it’s ready whenever I want to add it to a cocktail.
The combination of fresh fruit, cinnamon rosemary simple syrup and Smirnoff Sourced Cranberry Apple was perfection! This sangria is the epitome of Fall. It’s the perfect sangria to enjoy while tailgating, Friendsgivings, happy hours and lazy Football Sundays. It will become your new drink of the season. So, move over PSL, there’s a new beverage in town!

In other vodka news, this year marks the 75th year of the Moscow Mule, which was first created by SMIRNOFF in 1941. I suggest grabbing some Smirnoff Sourced Cranberry Apple, Cock’n Bull Ginger Beer and fresh limes. Then whip up a batch of cinnamon rosemary simple syrup and throw yourself together a Fall Moscow Mule. I have yet to do this but there’s no better time than right now as it just so happens to be #ThirstyThursday.
So let’s CHEERS to all things Fall and raise a glass of Cranberry Apply Rosemary Sangria in celebration!
