These Easy Lunches for Back to School are a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jewel-Osco. All opinions are 100% mine.
Easy Lunches for Back to School are a quick, convenient way to prep healthy meals for kids, work and home!
It’s that time again- back to school. We’ve got T-minus 2 weeks and I’m feeling all the feels.
It’s always such a bittersweet moment for me when the kids back to school.
It’s our time together to make the most of summer and we always do. Picnics at the park, watching the animals at the zoo, and long days spent pool side. It’s our favorite time of year.
However, back to school also means back to a routine, and we could all use a little routine these days.
However, back to school also means back to a routine, and we could all use a little routine these days.
Setting the alarm, getting dressed and packing school lunches are all part of getting back into a routine at our house.
Time to jump in the car, head to Jewel-Osco and stock up and Shop O Organics® products.
The line features more than 1,500 products down every aisle of the store, so there is something for everyone in your family!
When it comes to packing the kid’s lunches, I use these Meal Prep containers.
Their your back to school solution to all things lunch, dinner prep or snack time.
They are color coded so the kids (and my husband) have each claimed colors so they know exactly which is theirs in the mornings.
They’re a time saver and I love the different compartments to separate out the food and make sure no foods run into one another (hello yogurt)
I also use them for on the go car trips, for after the gym and keeping snacks in the car for after school activities.
You can even pack them the night before as they stay airtight. And they fit right into a standard lunch box!
My kids are getting older now, so they take part in packing their own lunches and these boxes make it simple for them.
I also encourage them to pack healthy foods and with O Organics being budget friendly, I’m not worried when my overzealous kids start putting extra items in the cart each and every aisle were on.
It also makes them excited to pack the items they shopped for and I’m one happy mama they’re eating foods that are better for them. Responsibility at its finest. Winning!
My kids do not want the same sandwich each and every day so we like to switch up the routine and pack them different pairings.
You’ve got to keep it interesting or they’ll become bored.
We keep it simple, but fun, with a few recipes but one of their favorites is taking a tortilla, spread on some almond butter on top and spread with jelly. Roll up and you’ve got peanut butter and jelly roll ups. An upgrade on your standard PB & J.
Here are some of their favorite box lunch ideas:
- Almond butter and jelly roll ups on a whole wheat tortilla
- Carrots with ranch dressing
- Banana chips with dried cranberries and dark chocolate chips
- Sailors Loot White cheddar baked corn puffs
- Applesauce
- Mozzarella cheese sticks
- Mandarin orange slices
- Vanilla Animals Crackers
- Veggie Straws
- almonds with with dried cranberries and dark chocolate chips
- Turkey deli meat with mozzarella cheese stick
- Cucumbers with ranch dressing
- Raspberries and blueberries
- Pretzel thins
- Hummus with green pepper slices, cherry tomatoes and mini sweet peppers
- Apple slices
- Vanilla yogurt with Honey granola
The possibilities are endless with these meal boxes.
To round out their lunch, I make sure they pack some type of fruit, vegetable, protein and a treat.
Having them shop with me, whether in store or online, ensures they are packing and eating the things they want to enjoy.
As I said before, my kids are getting older, but when they were younger, I would use these printable back to school lunch notes.
They’re encouraging, cute, funny and a way to make them smile and know you’re thinking about them.
Sometimes I will still pack them for my daughter, but pretty sure my 5th grade son would be mortified.

These ideas aren’t just for kids!
My husband will take these boxes to work with him too and fill them with his favorite foods.
They also help with portion control!
So, this year, take the stress out of back to school essentials shopping. Or if you’re remote, distance learning, these are perfect too!
Don’t forget, Jewel-Osco offers Grocery Delivery and Drive Up & Go™ for convenient ways to shop! It’s quick, easy and you and the kids can still shop online together to pick out their favorite snacks.
