Grilled Asparagus with Mustard Dill Sauce is tangy, creamy and a herbaceous side dish. It’s the perfect vegetable to add to any of your cookout and BBQ grilled meals.

If there’s one thing I love, its asparagus season, and I’m so happy it’s here! I’ve loved asparagus for as long as I can remember and I especially love this Asparagus and Spinach Frittata!
We usually drizzle olive oil, salt and pepper over the asparagus and grill it for an easy and quick side dish but sometimes I like to give it a little more jazz and make this Grilled Asparagus with Mustard Dill Sauce. It’s absolutely amazing and perfect for summertime grilling.
I recently participated in #brunchweek and Michigan asparagus was a sponsor. They’re also sponsoring #BBQweek which means double the asparagus love!
For Brunch week I made Breakfast Macaroni and Cheese and put asparagus in it and an egg. So yes, it’s epic but this Grilled Asparagus with Mustard Dill Sauce is not far behind.
Not only is asparagus delicious, it’s healthy too!
It’s chocked full of vitamins, minerals and fiber. It’s low in calories too which is why I love to add it to frittatas, salads and stuff them into chicken breasts.
However it’s also awesome wrapped them in bacon or prosciutto.
The mustard dill sauce that we drizzled over the top is a simple dressing made of Dijon mustard, garlic, chicken stock, dill, salt and pepper. It’s super easy to make and really elevates the asparagus.
This grilled asparagus with mustard dill sauce is the perfect vegetable to add to any of your cookout and BBQ grilled meals.

If you don’t have a grill, or grilling isn’t your thing, you can totally make these on the stove top, on a grill pan, or roast them in the oven. We do this during the winter as I’m not going out in 2 feet of snow in these Midwest winters!
We roast the asparagus in the oven with Parmesan cheese and a squeeze of lemon and it’s superb.
How do you like to prepare your asparagus?
Thank you Michigan asparagus for the loveliest arrival of asparagus I’ve ever laid eyes on.
How to store asparagus: As soon as you get home from the store, place your asparagus into a mason jar or a deep bowl and fill with about an inch or so of water. Change the water when it starts to get cloudy.
Pro tip: I just learned this while watching The Kitchen on Food Network. When they went to grill asparagus, they put down a wire cooling rack so the asparagus didn’t fall through the grate. Genius. I highly recommend you get yourself a wire cooling rack for the grill. (affl link)
