As a new food blogger to the scene, I thought I would take a moment for my first post and introduce myself to you! Like my bio reads, I’m Megan, the
Strawberry Blondie in this kitchen. I’m a thirty-something year old wife to my wonderful husband + mom to my two beautiful children, Aiden and Chloe. I’m a caffeine addict, have a weakness for sweet + salty, and love chocolate.
I currently reside in central IL and I’m always looking for a new place to move….somewhere warm! Can you say snow?! Ack! When I’m not busing the kids to school, soccer, t-ball, gymnastics or play-dates, you can find me either in my invitation studio or in the kitchen.
I like to cook, bake, eat, drink and repeat. My passion for cooking started 10 years ago when I first started watching Rachael Ray on Food Network. I was inspired by her to get into the kitchen and get moving to create delicious food instead of resorting to take out. As a newly married wife, I wanted to show my husband I could do more than just hop in the car and grab fast food. So, one night I cooked dinner using my new Magic Bullet Blender. I made “It’s ready already Alfredo” and “Chocolate Mousse” for dessert. And boy, was I proud of that meal. Looking back on it now, we both realize how awful it was, but I was hooked, and from then on, I’ve been in the kitchen. Sadly, I cannot say the same for my magic bullet blender. It was soon after that meal, I realized I could make Fettuccine Alfredo much better without it.
I’m so excited to start food blogging. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about for over a year now. It wasn’t until I saw a quote that made me jump on my dream instantly. “Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect.” There was no looking back, it WAS the perfect time. So, with encouragement from my husband, family and friends, it was full steam ahead! And here I am. I’m so happy to be here and look forward to meeting all of my readers, other food bloggers, novice chefs and food enthusiasts alike.
I hope you’ll join me on my new adventure and together we’ll whip up easy + delicious recipes, tasty dishes and sweet treats. Welcome to my kitchen and thank you for stopping by! That’s me in a nutshell and I promise to bring you a recipe tomorrow.

Hi Megan, your site looks great already for still being new. Before I got married, I rotated the same 5 meals over and over for myself. Then no longer single and with a hungry man in the house, you’re forced to mix it up, right? My blog is just baking, but I agree with you that cooking can be a lot of fun. 🙂

Thanks Robin! When we first got married, I hate to admit, but we ate a lot of HH (Hamburger Helper) Pleased to say I haven’t had a box of that in my house for many years! 😉
Your site also looks great and I love to bake too! It’s great to meet you! 🙂
