It’s Christmastime and when it’s cold outside, I want something to keep me warm and so do my kids after playing in the snow…for 5 minutes.
The answer… this Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Toddy.
It can be made with or without alcohol so it’s perfect for the whole family!
and who doesn’t love mini marshmallows piled high with chocolate syrup on top. I don’t know anyone.
This Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Toddy is basically a hot chocolate kicked up a notch.
It’s delicious, rich and full of chocolately flavor.
I added Torani Salted Caramel Syrup to really amp up the flavor and give this hot chocolate a yummy twist.
I will be honest with you. I almost always purchase a box of hot chocolate packets, with mini marshmallows, but let me tell you, making your own hot chocolate is 100% worth it!
This took me less than 5 minutes and the kids LOVED it!
I personally added a little whiskey to mine and boy did I enjoy that!
A little drizzle of Torani dark chocolate syrup and it’s the perfect way to spend the afternoon cuddled up with your favorite Christmas movie!

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Toddy
This delicious Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Toddy combines milk, rich chocolate, salted caramel syrup and an option to add vodka or whiskey for an adult version of a classic!
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- 10 ounces half and half
- 10 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons Torani Salted Caramel syrup
- 5 ounces of whiskey or vodka, optional*
- mini marshmallows, chocolate syrup and caramel syrup for garnish.
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, over low heat, heat milk until warmed through.
- Place half and half into a microwaveable safe bowl and heat for 2 minutes. Pour in chocolate chips and stir until melted. Dump in powdered sugar and whisk until smooth.
- Pour half and half mixture into milk, add in salted caramel syrup and stir to combine.
- Pour 5 ounces each into five mugs. Stir in 1 ounce of whiskey or vodka into each glass (optional)* and top with mini marshmallows, chocolate syrup and caramel syrup for garnish.
*Can be made without alcohol for a kid friendly version
