Whew! These 7 months of blogging have just flown by! I posted 50 recipes in that time and enjoyed making, photographing, editing and writing about each and every one of them. I’ve had so much fun and have some exciting things already planned for 2016. I’m interested to hear, what would you like to see on the blog in the upcoming year? I’ve got a running list of things I would love to make in the New year and hope to accomplish all of them! Cupcakes being number 1, I didn’t post 1 recipe, opps. I’ll get my cupcake game on in 2016, promise!
So, without further adieu I bring to you, my lovely and loyal readers, you’re favorite recipes from 2015. Thank you for sticking around while I squeeze my way into this vast food blogging World!
TOP TEN MOST POPULAR RECIPES
I had an idea to add PopRocks, to popcorn, to create a popping and crackling sound in your mouth while you celebrate the Fourth of July and you guys loved it!
I made these tacos this summer which are a riff off Red Lobster’s. They’re so delicious and the perfect summer dish although they can be enjoyed all year-long with an indoor grill pan!
We love Moscow Mules and have made many different versions of them so I just knew I had to make one to celebrate Autumn. You guys went crazy for this version and it’s a no wonder because it’s bursting with the flavors of Fall in a glass Copper Mug!
7. The Best Green Bean Casserole
I love that this made the Top 10 as it’s one of my favorite recipes I made from 2015. I was so happy when I finally nailed the green bean casserole after all these years that I had to declare it THE BEST. Skip the soup can and try this version, I think you’ll agree, it really is the best!
Is there really anything better than corn? I love it right off the cobb but when I want to add a little flair to my corn, this is my go to summer salad. It’s light, refreshing and full of flavor. It’s just as good with frozen corn or straight outta the can. Don’t skimp on the cotija, it makes for the perfect salty sweet bite!
5. Cornish Game Hen Teriyaki Stir Fry Bowls
I had never made cornish game hens before making this dish, but after trying one bite, I was hooked! These teriyaki bowls are amazingly delicious. Skip take out and make these bowls at home. Simple, yummy and much less sodium. Would be perfect for date night in paired with Netflix.
Oh are these ever good and a little sinful! Sautéed apples layered with greek yogurt and chia seeds and then with the crunch of life cereal, DELICIOUS! The apples can be made ahead of time so putting these together in the morning is a cinch. These would also be perfect for dessert.
3. Peppermint Hot Cocoa Cookie Bars
No brainer as to why these are in the top ten. Number One, they are cookies, that taste like hot chocolate and peppermint. Number Two, they feature seven layers of scrumptious goodness. And Number Three, there’s marshmallows and who can resist marshmallows? These made their way onto my Christmas cookies trays this year as they were just that good and I had to share them with everyone I knew. Try and you’ll see just why!
We grew up with puppy chow and as soon as I had one bite of these, I was instantly taken back to being a kid again. The crunchiness from the peanut butter is wonderful and had me being a Peter Pan® Simply Ground Peanut Butter convert. I even included a cute little tag for you to bag them up and give them to friends and family. Bonus, they’re no bake, SCORE
I knew these would take the top spot, I mean just look at them, they’re bonkers! Tator tots topped with cheesy queso, chorizo and more cheese, how could you not LOVE them? They’re awesome to feed a crowd and would be great at your next football party. I’m thinking the big game in February would be a great time to make these!
And that’s a wrap folks. Like I said before, you’ve got delicious taste!
Was there something you tried and loved that didn’t make the Top ten?
This was just a fun post for me to write and to reflect on my 7 short months of blogging. I feel like I’ve come a long way but still have a long way to go.
