These Valentine’s day gift ideas for the whole family is a sponsored blog; while the views expressed here were genuinely mine, consideration was paid to me by Hy-Vee.
Great Valentine’s day gift ideas for the whole family. Including presents for him, her, the kids and even the dog!
We’re keeping Valentine’s day low key around here this year…how about you?
I plan on grabbing a heart shaped pizza, putting on a movie and snuggle in with the husband and kids with some popcorn on the couch. (There will also be cocktails and mocktails for some toasting)
Now that’s my idea of the perfect family date night in if you ask me.
This year, go beyond the usual flowers, strawberries and card. I challenge you to explore “outside of the box” gift ideas for your family that you’ll know love.
And chocolate. You cannot ever go wrong with chocolate!
The other day I spent the afternoon walking up and down Hy-Vee in search of the perfect gifts for everyone at home.
Hy-Vee has everything you need to celebrate Valentine’s Day. From dinner to gifts, they’ve got everything you need in one helpful place!
My husband and I don’t normally exchange gifts for one another but we always get the kids a little something.
However, as I was perusing the store looking for the children, I kept seeing all of these food items that I know he’d enjoy. Isn’t the saying, “the way to his heart is through his stomach?” I mean that could be true for me too but my husband loves to get edible gifts.
So, I started filling the cart with gifts for the whole family. It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.
Selecting the perfect little presents that I knew would light their faces up was so special.
For Him
Here are some gift ideas for the partner, boyfriend, husband or just the foodie (and cocktail) lover in your life.
My husband LOVES Reese’s so I started with a large heart. Then I snagged some cheese curds, jalapeno cheddar summer sausage, Honey Mustard and Onion Pretzel Crisps a few ZOET chocolate bars and some popcorn for movie time.
I also grabbed him a bottle of Tito’s, his favorite, from the wine & spirits department.
He likes to drink Tito’s water and liquid water enhancer (in any flavor you choose)
I also picked up a card that says “we were made for each other” with milk and cookies. The perfect pair!
For Her
When looking for ideas that would be great for your girlfriend, wife, best friend or just for yourself, I thought about what I love most.
A hot, relaxing soak in the tub…At home spa day if you will. Therefore, I hit the beauty department and went nuts!
I grabbed a bag of Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Soothe & Sleep Lavender Soaking Solution. This stuff is bomb.
Speaking of bomb, I also threw in a few bath bombs and Zum lavender room spray.
I’m all about relaxing this day and soaking up a little bit of “me time.”
Snagged a bottle of Bubbly Sparkling Rose and a cute Valentine themed wine glass I’ll pour myself before my soak.
Lastly, I picked up a bag of Ghirardelli Valentine’s White Chocolate Crème Duet Hearts Bag. Hide the bag from your family. Incredibly delicious!
For the Kids (Son, daughter, child, toddler, baby)
The kids might have been the most fun to shop for.
I started with my daughter whose heart goes pitter patter at the sight of pink, purple and glitter.
Luckily for me, Hy-Vee has a small section of Claire’s where they have cute jewelry, trinkets and lip gloss.
I picked her up some heart earrings and sparkling lip gloss.
I also had picked up a bath bomb and sleep mask in the Health & Beauty department.
I then ventured over to the School supplies and picked up my art loving son a new drawing pad, pencils and erasers.
And there it was. The holy grail of presents… slime. I grabbed some for my son and for my daughter and I knew it would be the hit of the baskets.
I also included a bottle of Welch’s sparkling grape juice because my kids love it and it makes every occasion more special for them as we only have it a few times a year.
A little box of heart shaped Russell Stover chocolates, conversation hearts and greeting cards and the kid’s basket were finished.
They also have a great section for babies and toddlers so you could snag your baby some teething rings, stuffed animals or Tippy Toes squeezable fruit packets.
For the dog
As I was cruising along, I noticed this adorable Valentine day themed multipet dog toy and I had to have it. Into the cart it went.
Along with some peanut butter crunchy bones and these sweet Honey Oat dog cookies, shaped like a cupcake and pizza, from a local bakery.
That’s another thing I love about Hy-Vee is how much they support the local small businesses in the area!
Even Dudley, our Schnauzer, will feel the love this heart day.
You don’t have to limit Valentine’s day gifts for just your family. There’s enough love to go around or everyone!
Here are a few more ideas for all those special people in your life.
For the Classmates
You can also grab the kid’s valentine’s day card to pass out at school or to their best friends.
For your Coworkers
They had some adorable coffee mugs that your coworker would truly appreciate.
For your Neighbors
Grab some chocolate covered strawberries and bring them over to your neighbors.
While the flowers are gorgeous at Hy-Vee, this year I opted to go beyond the floral department and explore what else Hy-Vee has to offer this Valentine’s Day.
And yes, everything was purchased for one stop shopping. You can even grab a pizza for V-day dinner and you’re golden!
Shop online through, Hy-Vee aisles online and conveniently have everything brought to your car or even delivered to your home! (If you’re a Hy-Vee Plus member, 2-hour pickup and standard delivery is free with a $30 order.) How easy is that?!
