Get out there and enjoy some wine with a side of adventure. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, around the fire or on the patio with friends, enjoy yourself!
We have just returned from 12 days on vacation and it was jam-packed from start to ending. It was glorious and much-needed for all of us.
Each summer, we road trip to Sheridan, Wyoming to spend a week (or more) soaking up family moments, adventure and good times.
This year was no different, other than the fact we went out early, on the 4th of July, and watched the fireworks being shot off over the mountain as we rolled into town. It was awesome!
After our 17 hours drive, we settled in and went to bed with an agenda for tomorrow to work on the week’s adventures.
On Wednesday, we decided to head up into the Big Horn Mountains. This is our favorite day of the whole trip. Nothing is better than being 5,000 feet above the town and feeling like you can touch the clouds.
The temperature dropped from 90 degrees down to 65 but we didn’t care. We still headed straight into the reservoir. We splashed, skipped rocks and hopped from stone to stone to cross to the other side.
All while doing this, my cousin took some sweet photos with his new drone. He flew it across the reservoir to take this amazing shot. I am just in awe of this Earth’s beauty.
When our time in the mountains was done, we bid adieu to the Big Horns and headed down to the house for showers, rest and relaxation with the adults.
It was a perfect night, so we headed to the back yard to start a fire and enjoy some wine with a side of adventure. And of course to eat s’mores too! Now isn’t that what vacation and summer are all about?!
I recently discovered Sheep Thrills® Pinot Grigio originating from Abruzzo, Italy.
I am drawn to wine that has cool, unique labels on them. Marco and Paolo, the sheep that are depicted on the bottle parachuting down from cloud wine, were just too cute to pass up. I’m so happy the label stood out to me!
I decided to bring it along on our trip so I could share with the entire family. I also brought the Sheep Thrills® Red Blend so that I could try it and also have my family members who preferred red wine to join us for a night of wine and s’mores.
I fell in love with Sheep Thrills Pinot Grigio because of it’s slightly sweet, floral and tropical fruit notes, which fits my palate perfectly.
Since I have already tasted and enjoyed the Pinot Grigio, I started around the fire with the Red Blend. Right off the bat I could taste the notes of cherries and spices. It was absolutely delicious and perfect for my family of thrill seekers.
The Red Blend also paired perfectly with the s’mores if I do say so myself.
It was a lovely family night, sitting around the fire while sipping wine and catching up with family we haven’t seen in a few months. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening to spend with the ones I love.
Our time spent there is never enough. It’s hard for me to have my dad live so far away from us so it’s always so bittersweet to leave. One thing is for sure, when I return, I’ll be bringing along Sheep Thrills® so we can continue the adventure.
Be sure to check out Sheep Thrills on Facebook and Instagram so you can check in to see what adventures Marco and Paolo are getting into these days. They are quite the thrill seekers!
